About Ann Fendorf

Ann came to pottery later in life, though clearly remembers playing in the mud as a child making pinch pots.
In 1995 her passion for clay was re-kindled when she took her first pottery class at the Northern Clay Center. Since then she has spent more and more time in the studio and retired in 2000 after more than 20 years as a social worker/therapist to focus entirely on pottery. She has taught both handbuilding and wheel throwing at the Northern Clay Center for  adults and children. She also has taught in the Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools and in various community settings, including non-profit organizations and senior facilities.  Ann maintained a juried studio space at the Northern Clay Center for two years and now works from her studios in St. Paul, MN and Alma, WI, producing primarily functional pottery. Ann works mostly in low fire using an electric kiln but also has created high fire stoneware.  She has been juried into various art shows in Duluth, MN, Lawrence, KS and St. Paul, MN and been in studio artist/instructor shows at the Northern Clay Center. Her work is currently available at the Commercial Gallery in Alma, WI and at Clementine's in Red Wing, MN.
